Vagabonding sucks when you're sick. You can't go home, put on your favorite worn out pajamas, and climb into your own bed.
The intention was to spend two weeks - mostly for David to see the London sites, since he'd never been there. I had been a few times, but was more than happy to make the rounds again with him. We arranged a stay in a Victorian flat outside London. But as the gremlins would have it, I got knocked out with Covid. We ended up leaving the flat early for a hotel to give the owners a buffer of time between Typhoid Mary leaving (that's me) and their return. Then David joined me with Covid. Most of our London days were spent coughing, sneezing, whining, and resting. Ugh.
We'll just have to come back.

Our flat in London. Note the excellent sunny weather. (R) We smelled a gas leak in the flat that needed emergency repair.

We holed up in our London hotel located. It was within walking distance of most of the sites we wanted to see. The weather stayed pretty nice...

...until the last few days when we were well enough to venture out and London decided to exhibit more typical London weather. Trafalgar square, Big Ben, and the Parliament Building.

Coolest pedestrian crossing signs ever

Clockwise from upper left: London eye, horse guard, a very London street scene, Westminster Abbey, pretty pub, Chinatown

We did grab fish and chips in this nice pub

National Gallery was fab. Some of PJ's favs: Clockwise from top right - a Picasso, The Execution of Lady Jane Grey by Paul Delaroche, a Leonardo da Vinci.

(Clockwise from upper left) David with Assyrian winged lions, Egyptian mummies, and an amazing ancient Greek talent (look closely).

Around Buckingham Palace. Clockwise from upper left - Beefeater outside the Palace, in front of the monument to Queen Victoria, the Mall looking toward the Admiralty Arch, and the arch to our countrymen, the Canada Gate.
